Local cinema is where community first begins for a movie lover. These connections, formed through a shared love of entertainment, are what inspire and motivate us every day at Plex. Now we’re asking you to join us in our commitment to making sure these local theater landmarks stay in the spotlight for generations to come. Grab a friend or a loved one and pay a visit to your neighborhood theater. And remember, always, always get the popcorn.

As movie lovers and loyalists of independent theaters, we instituted a $100,000 grant to lend a helping hand to one deserving local movie theater, and in turn, the community it serves. We are proud to present the first-ever Theater of Dreams grant recipient: The Little Art Theatre, hailing from the idyllic, small town of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Little Art Theater thought we came to town to film a grant documentary. Little did they know, we were there for something much bigger.
The community of Yellow Springs comes together to celebrate a bright new beginning for The Little Art Theater.
Our search for a Theater of Dreams Grant recipient led us to local theaters that moved and inspired us. All across the US, we found people and communities coming together to keep these local neighborhood cinemas alive.
We might be big on streaming, but first and forever, we’re fans of going to the movies. We sat down with some Plexians past and present to reflect on the impact theaters have had on our lives throughout the years.
Theater of Dreams is a premium feature and requires a Plex Pass subscription.
