This accessibility statement applies to content published on http://www.plex.tv and Plex’s iOS and Android app. All are designed to comply with the technical standard for websites and mobile apps, EN 301 549 v.3.2.1. This closely follows level ‘AA’ of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2.

Plex has incorporated the following accessibility features:

• Text-based descriptions: Clear and detailed information in plain language.
• Screen reader compatibility: Ensuring the service works with screen readers, such as NVDA and JAWS.
• Multimedia alternatives: Providing captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions for multimedia content when available.
• Adjustable contrast and zoom functionality: Allowing users to customize the display for better visibility (in some cases based on OS level controls).
• Logical navigation: Clear menus and headings for intuitive browsing.
• Keyboard accessibility: Ensuring functions are operable without a mouse.
• Error notifications: Providing informative messages to guide users.
• Customizable settings: Enabling users to adjust fonts, themes, and display modes.

Conformance Status

The website and applications are partially conformant with the EN 301 549 harmonized standard. 

Preparation of the Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement was prepared on June 27, 2025, and was last updated on June 27, 2025, following an accessibility review of the app and website content against EN 301 549. This review was performed using a combination of automated and manual accessibility testing, across a range of browsers, using a range of assistive technologies.

Ongoing Accessibility Testing and Monitoring

Plex conducts annual accessibility audits and uses monthly automated monitoring. Accessibility issues flagged are prioritized for remediation.

Known limitations of website:

• Video player controls: Some are unavailable, hidden, or only partially operable.
• Dialogs: Some are missing roles or have issues where focus is placed after inputs.
• Partially available content: With user-initiated action, some content is not readable (password validation criteria, consent pop-up, expanded menu items not appearing on hover).
• Page navigation: Alternative methods to skip content are required.
• Color contrast issue. Color contrast poses navigation challenges.

Known limitations of Android app:

• Missing names on controls: Some buttons and menu icons are missing reader-accessible names.
• Text and focus contrast issues: Some text and focus indicators have limited contrast.
• Missing alternative navigation: Some content (carousels) only allows swipe gestures.
• Unannounced error and status messages: Some error and status messages are displayed but not detected by reader.

Known limitations of iOS app:

• App controls limitation: Some controls are not accessible via keyboard and screen readers.
• Text and focus contrast issues: Some text and focus indicators have limited contrast.
• Missing control role announcements: Some controls are missing content to explain what type of component a user is interacting with.
• Missing alternative navigation: Some content (carousels) only allows swipe gestures.
